ESVBA Begins a Limited Test Deployment of fiber to the home

    By ESVBA | Expansion | 2 comments | 15 September, 2016 | 8

EXMORE, VA., At its September 15th meeting, the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority (ESVBA) unanimously approved residential pricing and a fiber to the home buildout for a test area located at Harborton, Virginia.  This buildout expands the ESVBA network and provides service to an area that is currently unserved by any terrestrial broadband.  The available service level and pricing are listed in the chart below.  The test area will be for residences fronting U.S. Route 180 (Harborton Road) from Bobtown Road and the build will include the village of Harborton.  The initial projection is that the test project will take 6 months to complete and the ESVBA intends to start the engineering designs immediately.  Updates to the project will be provided on the ESVBA website as the service becomes available.
