I am writing to provide a quick update and hopefully, some reassurance, regarding your ESVBA telecommunication services. As you know, the global COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions to both commerce and daily life in our area. Schools are currently closed and many workers have been asked to complete as much of their daily professional duties as possible from home. All of this rapid change has underlined the critical importance of broadband access and reliability to our region. Simply put, more of our neighbors than ever before are relying on their home internet connection for news, information, education, healthcare, telework and entertainment.
In this unique moment, we understand the important role we play in our community. We want to provide reassurance that the work we do is considered “essential services” and that our team is prepared and, as always, is applying the highest standards and professional protocols to ensure your connection is there when you need it. We continue to be fully staffed but, as I’m sure you’d expect, have made several adjustments to our usual operating procedures to protect the health and well-being of our community.
Effective immediately, please be aware:
- The ESVBA will continue to provide proactive 24/7 networking monitoring and, have a local deployment team and restorative equipment at the ready to address any connectivity challenges.
- Until further notice, ESVBA’s Exmore offices (4174 Lankford Highway) will restrict physical access to support the latest social distancing guidance. At this time, facility access will be limited to employees-only.
- Where it is both possible and pragmatic, we have also authorized specific members of our operations team to complete their responsibilities through remote access connectivity.
We were founded to serve our community, to ensure digital accessibility to the businesses and residents of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. And, we take that responsibility seriously. We are proactively monitoring your connectivity all day, every day. We are confident in the stability of our infrastructure but are also fully prepared to address challenges should they arise.
As always, we are also ready and willing to address all inquiries and/or customer concerns.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning, that in addition to serving our customers directly, ESVBA is dedicated to supporting the broader connectivity needs of our community. With this mission in mind, we have made 27 free public wi-fi hotspots available across our service area. This wireless service is provided free of charge to both residents and visitors but is subject to the Terms and Conditions of our Acceptable Usage Policy. Please refer to our website https://esvba.com/wifi-hot-spots/ for a full list of locations and share this information with any friends and neighbors who may benefit from these services.
As always, thank you for choosing to support the ESVBA with your business and loyalty. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are honored to serve during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Robert Bridgham

Living here in Melfa on Phillips drive sadly internet service came to 3 houses down the street and left us 3 without. When are we going to be allowed to have an internet service that works? We’re here with worthless Verizon
Is Bailey beach neck/ Drive on the list..we have have bad to zero internet for years?!
Are there any plans to extend service further down Cashville road, specifically to Bailey’s Neck, Finney’s Neck and into Cashville?
I just had our install done today. Very refreshing to have a young man show up on time, do a very conscientious and professional installation, he is a credit to your company. We are very excited to finally have decent internet access like the city folk. Looking forward to a long and rewarding relationship with ESVBA.
