There was orange conduit laid in front of my house on Bobtown Road in Pungoteague years ago. Why is your expansion ending at Harborton Road ? another ½ mile to Big Pine and you will get me and at least 4 other sign ups. Verizon DSL sux as does their cell coverage. Give us some relief

    • Robert Gibb Reply June 15, 2017 at 2:20 pm

Please bring fiber into the town of Melfa! There are too many trees for wireless bridges to be effective. Verizon has an oversubscribed DSLAM and will not offer FIOS. Help!

      • Robert Gibb Reply July 21, 2019 at 4:20 pm

We still need Fiber to the household in Melfa!

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:00 pm

        Mr. Gibb,

We have fiber in Melfa and are funded to build out the town. Please contact our sales staff to determine how close your house is to our current network and if not, what kind of timing for our expansion to be done by your house.

I live on Kerr St in Onancock where fiber is in place 30′ from my house! Why isn’t this fiber being utilized before placing fiber in these new areas? Doesn’t make sense!

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 5:03 pm

        Mr. LoFaso:

The ESVBA has now opened fiber to the home in all of Onancock and is happy to provide you service.

    • Alex Vargas Reply July 11, 2017 at 8:25 am

Please bring fiber to the home service to the Nelson Drive neighborhood in Onancock. Fiber is about 100 feet away. Make it happen! Thanks!

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:01 pm

We are hoping you are enjoying the service Alex!

    • Lennie Core Reply July 31, 2017 at 12:59 am

I manage several world wide servers. Verizon.DSL just is not enough for me.
Sylvan Scene Dr., Machipongo, Va. between RT13 and Seaside road.

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 5:02 pm

The ESVBA does not currently have fiber down Sylvan Scene Dr however, we do have fiber on right next to Rt-13 and we are funded to build up Seaside Rd so, depending on where you live on Sylvan Scene dr, we maybe able to provide you a cost-effective quote for service. Please contact our sales staff for more details.

Can something to the Town of Tasley, I can see the fiber booster station from my house. Why can’t that be tapped into???

    • Heather Bruso Reply August 31, 2017 at 12:00 pm

Where do I start? My husband and I moved into our house in Wattsville while the current occupant had internet. We called to get it switched over and the company said they don’t service that area. “But we’re using it right now.” That seems to happen a lot around here, with all companies. We finally got our internet hooked up and squared away and we’re paying for 3Mb, but are barely getting 1Mb. We’re also paying for a house phone that is apparently needed, but we don’t use. So our bill is around $90 a month for horrible service and a feature we don’t use. We would gladly pay the same amount or even a little more for much, much higher speeds. Also, we have a friend who lives less than 10 miles away (in MD) and is getting more than 250Mb speeds. I realize that’s MD and with a different company, but less than 10 miles with that kind of speed. It’s unreal.

I’ve heard that companies won’t service the Eastern Shore because of the “lack of population,” “lack of interested users,” “too much of a rural area,” “We’ll lose money,” etc. They obviously haven’t surveyed the area. There are a lot of home based businesses here that need internet. My grandmother has a pacemaker with a transmitter that sends reports back to the doctor’s office and that obviously needs internet. There are a lot of people who would love to have high speeds for whatever the reason. The list could go on as to why people need better internet here.

Just because we’re a little area doesn’t mean we don’t like the internet! Lol.

        Ms. Bruso,

The ESVBA has recognized this deficiency and is working to remedy the lack of broadband options on the Eastern Shore. If you contact our staff we are happy to look at your location and see if and when we can provide you access to quality broadband.

    • Nancy Cooley Reply September 1, 2017 at 9:47 am

Please extend fiber to towns of Bloxom/Hallwood because there are too many trees to receive effective service in this area.

    • Steve Matthews Reply December 12, 2017 at 7:13 pm

We’ve been looking at moving to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, but the lack of broadband has prevented us from making a decision. I work from home and require reliable broadband. I would think that the lack of broadband is severely restricting the growth potential for that area. Otherwise, it seems like a great place with great potential.

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:05 pm

        Mr. Matthews,

The Eastern Shore has been lacking in broadband deployment however, we are working diligently to remedy this. We are in a build phase to provide broadband services in all 19-towns of the shore as well as hundreds of miles of roads outside of the towns. The ESVBA is increasing its coverage of the shore to go from passing ~25% of the homes of the shore to ~65% of the shore by the end of 2020.

    • Ken Reply December 25, 2017 at 12:20 am

We live on Wardtown Road north of Nassawadox and do internet sales for our business. We are forced to use Verizon at a 1.9 mbps. We need high speed internet service as this Verizon speed is making us lose substantial sales. When is ESVBA going to
      Serve this area, including Franktown?

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:52 pm

        Ken,

The ESVBA has fiber up and down Bayside including throughout Nassawadox and into Franktown. We do not currently have fiber up Wardtown Rd and are always looking for additional funding opportunities to expand our network. We will post updates to our website as we are able to sustainably expand into additional areas for service.

    • chuck Reply May 30, 2018 at 12:38 am

Please extend fiber to onancock va. dial up is faster than dsl.

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:39 pm

        Chuck,

The ESVBA has expanded our broadband service to the whole town of Onancock and it is immediately available. Please feel free to contact our sales staff for a quote for service.

    • Churchill Pinder Reply June 13, 2018 at 5:29 pm

What would it take to get Fiber laid down Country Club Road and make it available to all the developments there including The Greens and Bleniem. And many other homes.
The DSL NO LONGER AVAILABLE in this area since lines full so there!!!
Would a private effort in that community make it possible?
Does one of your partner companies need to invest in that infrastructure ?
      HELP
access to decent internet would add value to that thriving community

      • ESVBA Reply November 11, 2018 at 4:36 pm

        Mr. Pinder,

The ESVBA did secure funding to build down Country Club Rd all the way to Shore Dr. If you are on Country Club Rd you will be able to get service but construction of that will not start until the late fall of 2020. Please stay tuned to our website for updates.

    • Laura Chuquin-Naylor Reply September 10, 2018 at 11:37 pm

Please turn right on Bobtown (toward Savageville)! There are three houses just north of Pungoteague Elementary that need Broadband and many more farther north.

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:27 pm

        Ms.Chuquin-Naylor:

The ESVBA has acquired funding to build North on Bobtown Rd towards Savageville. That project will be worked on in the early Summer next year. Please stay tuned to our website for updates!

    • J Reply February 23, 2019 at 9:26 pm

Why are you going around Pungoteague Rd? Please please come down our road.

      • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:12 pm

We have funded the build down Pungoteague Rd from Bobtown Rd down to almost Rt-13. That project will be constructed sometime in the late Spring and you will have service available then.

    • ESVBA Reply December 20, 2019 at 4:03 pm

The ESVBA has fiber in both towns and is expanding its coverage in both towns. Please feel free to reach out to our sales staff to see if your home is on or near the paths we are building down.
