    From the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority

    The ESVBA is pleased to announce its participation in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The Federal ACP program provides a long-term discount of up to $30 per month on qualifying broadband bills for eligible households and is designed to help families and households afford broadband connection.

    There are updates regarding this program. The FCC is winding down this program. The program is expected to end in April 2024 unless Congress extends it. Read the letter below carefully.”

    This benefit can be applied to both new and existing customers.

    Qualifying ESVBA Service Plans start at 25/25 Mbps for $39.99/month.

    The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

    The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a federal benefit program designed to make broadband affordable for needing households. The ACP is a long-term program funded at $14.2 billion and replaces the expired Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program. Under the ACP, there is a $30 discount per month per eligible household. A household is eligible if it meets the follow program eligibility criteria:

    • The household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
    • Participation in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC, or Lifeline.
    • Participation in the National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision.
    • Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
    • Meeting the eligibility criteria for a participating provider’s existing low-income internet program.

    To participate, new and existing ESVBA customers must:

    Step 1: Seek Official Eligibility Determination:

    Go to ACPBenefit.org to submit an application or print out a mail-in application. Contact your preferred participating provider to select a plan and have the discount applied to your bill.

    For a mail-in application, fill and return it along with copies of documents showing proof of eligibility to:

    Step 2: Contact ESVBA

    After receiving an eligibility determination, households can contact ESVBA to request this service discount by calling (757) 414-0304 or emailing sales@esvba.com.

    Participants should provide official FCC eligibility determination to ESVBA when submitting their request.

    Step 3: Activation

    ESVBA will confirm eligibility and qualifying subscription and then apply an automatic monthly credit to the qualifying account. Credit will remain in place until FCC sunsets this program.
